KATHMANDU, JULY 11The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology is studying the record-breaking rainfall incident in Kanchanpur district.

Today, the department appointed a team of experts for the study. Zonta Club Kathmandu honored with Excellence in Service and Advocacy Award in Australia What's known, and not known, about the partnership agreement signed by Russia and North Korea The team, led by senior meteorologist Indira Kandel, has been dispatched to Kanchanpur.According to Kandel, the expert team will study the physical condition and technical aspects of the rain measurement center, among other necessary elements. She mentioned that in some cases, questions regarding the condition of the equipment will also be examined.

During the study, information will be gathered from local municipality representatives, local and government officials, and an assessment of the damage in the area will be conducted.Local experiences during the rainfall will also be collected.

The monsoon rains that fell on Dodhara, Hanumannagar, and Sundarpur areas of Kanchanpur on July 7 and 8 broke a 78-year record.The department has established an automated rain measuring center there.The region recorded its highest rainfall since 2003 BS.

According to the department's data, 624 mm of rain was measured in Dodhara, 573.6 mm in Hanumannagar, and 555.8 mm in Sundarpur. .
